The Laboratory for Photovoltaics (LPV) at the University of Luxembourg (UL) is searching for a PhD student (M/F)

• Financed by the Luxembourgish AFR (Aide Formation Recherche) fellowship  (further information and guidelines on http://www.afr.lu)
• 3 year fixed-term contract, renewable one year under justified circumstances, full-time (40 hours/week)
• Employee status

The Laboratory develops thin film solar cells based on compound semiconductors. The PhD project will focus on the low cost synthesis of thin film semiconductor materials by electrochemical deposition from novel ionic liquids and subsequent thermal annealing. Further the project will involve the chemical and opto-electronic characterization of the materials and devices.

Mission

• complete the research project with the aim to obtain a doctoral degree in physics
   

Profile:

• Masters degree in chemistry or physics with excellent grades.
  Equivalent studies and degree will also be considered.
   
• Solid background or previous experience in one of the following research fields is an advantage: inorganic or physical chemistry, solid state or condensed matter physics.
   
•  Excellent language skills, especially English, to evolve in a multilingual environment.
